I can finally post pics!

I suppose I ought to explain. A dear friend of JJ's and mine was moving into a new place last week, and we wanted to give her a moving-in prezzie. When JJ last came to visit me, we had to satisfy our craving for pretty yarns of course, and whilst wombling around the wool shop, came across these lovely variegated yarns in the prettiest pinks and greens. Joy wanted to have a really girly girly pinky shabby chic guest room, so we thought we would both make her a pretty cushion, slightly different patterns but made with the same yarns. It was so much fun! I finished my cushion a week or so ago and soooooooooo wanted to post a photo of it, but of course, I couldn't do that and give the game away, Joy does read the blog!

I posted the cushion yesterday, and JJ's dad posted hers yesterday as well ( JJ is in Portugal at the mo, the cow, humph ), and Joy received them both this morning! So now I can finally post pictures of my labour of love for our lovely friend Joy. I was very tempted to keep it for myself, lol, because it would look perfect in the guest room in our cottage in France as well, but she is worth the sacrifice ;-). Oh, and I could of course make another one for myself, couldn't I? Good excuse to visit the shop again.

Truly beautiful! I am new to crochet, but loving it. As soon as I have finished my big granny square blanket (30 down only 70 more to go...!!) my next project will be a lovely cushion adorned with flowers!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, girls!
Floss, if I can do it, you can do it, honestly, Lucy's tutorial is VERY easy. Until I read her instructions I was completely useless at following any kind of pattern, but I can follow hers.
And Sally, I would love to see pics of your granny square blanket work-in-progress.

It is beautiful! Well done! What yarn did you use? They are lovely colours.

Hi Liz, most of the yarns I had collected from various charity shops here in England and in France, for the granny square blanket which I had made over the last two years. These were just left overs, but I also got some acrylic yarns from a local store, errmm, King Cole yarns, I think, which were incredibly reasonably priced, £1 for a 100g ball. I don't want to use expensive yarns, not with two Rhodesian Ridgebacks in the home, lol, who love to mess around with blankets and cushions.

Right madam, Ms Cow from Portugal calling - how very dare you be rude about moi while I´m wallowing in the rain in Portugal.

Lovely cushion by the way though :-)

The cushion is lovely, even better in the 'flesh' so to speak and of course I know because it is languishing on my guest bed with its partner.
Thanks for the gorg pressie L.
