Steampunk Clock Fairy

This week's theme at the Tag Tuesday Challenge blog is CLOCKS. As I said on that blog, I think all this Halloween talk etc seems to bring out the darker side of me. When I thought of clocks, I thought of big old drafty English or Scottish mansions and castles with antique grandfather clocks, which chimed at the oddest times, or stopped working for a while and then got going again, missing pendulums and wind up keys etc. And responsible for all this is, of course, the CLOCK FAIRY, playing nasty little tricks.

This is her, don't wear your watch or sit near a clock while you are looking at her, can't be too careful where fairies are concerned -

I also needed to catch up with a couple of inchies, last week's WALL and this week's WIND inchies.

This is a moss covered field stone WALL -

Sad Wednesday

What a sad day. Kathleen over at the Faded Charm blog announced today that this will be the last ever White Wednesday. I didn't post all that often, but always thoroughly enjoyed looking at the wonderful links. I found some beautiful blogs through the White Wednesday linky party. So, a big thank you to Kathleen for hosting this gorgeous event for such a long time. This is White Wednesday No. 171.

I chose a beautiful old wedding tiara for this last WW post. I think it dates to the 1940s, but I am not sure. If you can date it, please let me know.

You can find many more White Wednesday posts on Kathleen's Faded Charm blog.

Companion piece and other stuff

While I had all the crafting supplies on my desk, I thought I might as well make a companion piece to the collage I showed you the other day, on this post, another one in a series of small religious collages -

And the other stuff? Errm, well, there isn't all that much actually, lol, a few tags I made for customers and friends, thats all really. Here are a couple of them ( a couple because I forgot to photograph the others, lol ) -

Princettia, errmmm......

I saw a big display of pot plants in our local supermarket the other day. Pink poinsettias? Oh no, nothing so mundane, lol, these apparently are PRINCETTIAS. Never heard of them before, but I love that gorgeous pink!!! I really couldn't leave the supermarket without taking one home with me -

Found these gorgeously pink buttons in France in the summer -

These buttons are the most delicious, fabulous salmon pink, also found in France -

I am joining all the other lovers of PINK over at the How Sweet the Sound blog for this week's PINK SATURDAY getogether.

PS - I still think they are just pink poinsettias, lol

Madonna and Child collage

I have been been making religious tags this week to go with customers' purchases, and while I was at it, I also started making a series of wall hangings. This is the first one I have finished. I used a small canvas board and added a beautiful image of the Madonna and Child and surrounded it with lovely vintage French lace. the hanger is a piece of vintage chain, and I added a vintage French religious medal at the bottom of the collage -

Halloween Owl

I missed a whole month of Tag Tuesday Challenge tags, I feel terrible about that, but now that I am back in the UK, I am determined to catch up, starting with this week's theme of OWLS.

When I was looking through my images of owls, I found this one, and it gave me the shivers, those eyes looked so evil! My immediate thought was, Halloween owl, and that was what I went with. A lot of people in past centuries thought of owls as associated with witchcraft and magic, not just the wise creature we mostly think of these days.

Halloween Owl tag -

I used black mulberry paper for the background, cut out images of the moon, a bat, skull and scary doll and gave the evil owl a witches' hat. A piece of fabric leaf trim had to do for a tree branch. I also had this image of a scary baby or doll in a bottle, which I wanted to use somehow. I coloured a tiny bottle I had found at a bootfair on Sunday green to kind of match the image and really make it look like a bottled baby. Just a little bit of silver sparkle on the hat and the night sky, and that was it, Halloween Owl tag done.

A whole month to catch up on, sigh........... now what was last week's theme?

Creamy White Delight

Oh good grief, what a dreadful title for a post, lol, but you see, once you got a silly title in your mind, your brain won't let go of it. At least mine won't, sigh.

I have been so busy catching up with various members of my family once we got back from France, that I haven't had much time for crafting. I did start listing some of the new treasures in the Etsy shop though, which meant making lots more tags to go with the orders from my lovely customers. And of course, most of them are creamy white, hence the silly blog title. Here are some of them -

A sweet little altered matchbox to hold a rosary -

A little bit of creamy white delight for WHITE WEDNESDAY NO. 170.

I have also done a Vintageland post at long last with lots of non-white things, lol, which you can find HERE.
