Flash Weekend Giveaway! NOW CLOSED

I was very lucky to find a roll of gorgeous 1950s lingerie lace at a little brocante. I love the soft cafe au lait color and the pretty floral design.

And because there are many yards of this lace, I thought I'd share my good fortune and send three yards of this lace to one of my followers.

Leave a comment on this post and your name will go into the hat. I like drawing a winner the old fashioned folded paper bits way. I'll do the draw on Monday.

I HAVE ADDED A COUPLE MORE BITS TO THE GIVEAWAY, SEE SUNDAY'S POST :-). -

No BWW today.....but I am going white anyway!

Thats because I promised you after last week's Blissful Whites Wednesday post that I would show you more of my antique and vintage lace finds. Becky is taking a well deserved break from BWWs until June 4th, so there will be no linky party on her blog, but I will continue with the Whites on Wednesday because I love it. So there.

It is getting more and more difficult to find old lace at the brocantes these days, but every now and then I get lucky and find a few pieces.  This gorgeous, very fine lace piece was part of a sleeve, I think. Soooo fine, so pretty -

Some pieces, like this one, need a jolly good soak -

others have rust marks, wich are very difficult to remove, but can be worked around sometimes -

Hand embroidered broderie anglaise is always so beautiful -

And then there are the very fine net laces, bobbin laces etc -

A pair of beautiful inserts -

And some pieces of thicker cotton laces, always great for using in collages etc -

Also found this tiny little treen needle holder and the tiniest little cotton reels at a stand where I  bought some of the lace -

For next week's Whites I'll probably take pics of the beautiful monogrammed table cloth and matching  12 serviettes. I love love love damask table linen, especially when it is monogrammed, so very Downton Abbey!

Pink Saturday - 1930s Lingerie Lace Trims

Just a very short Pink Saturday post today as my DH and DS3 are returning from France this afternoon, and I am way too excited to sit on the computer for long.

I found these beautiful lace trims at a vide greniers in France this summer. I have them in the sweet light sky blue as well, but the ones I am showing you today are a very lightest soft shell pink and so beautiful. I was planning to use one on a really dainty lacy collage or pillow or perhaps even a small bag. What would you do with some of these? -

Have a great weekend wherever you are, go find some fabulous bargains, craft something wonderful, and above all have fun!

The Oh-La-La Shabby Chic Girls' Club Link Party!

I am sure most of you will know Cindy Adkins from her Whimsical Musings blog, but whilst I was away in France, she also started a new blog, which I found out about as I was working my way through a million and one missed blog posts - The Shabby Chic Girls' Club. And she is having a Linky Party today! For anything shabby chic of French inspired. Oh my, having just spent 2 months in France, I have one or two French inspired photographs, lol. What to show, what to show?

Well, I have decided to show you a few shabby chic lavender sachets and an altered old French glass bottle. Oh, it was so lovely sitting outside my craftavan, doing a little bit of al fresco sewing and crafting -

And when I was feeling peckish? No need to go back to the cottage for a snack, I had plentiful supplies growing right next to the sewing machine -

I made these lavender sachets for Christine with some of the lace found at a vide greniers we both went to -

I finally found some lovely old bottles at a vide greniers, I had been looking for ages but had never been lucky before. Some of the really old ones are too nice to alter, the embossed writing on them is decoration enough, but I had fun with the plain ones. Well, one of them, lol, the others are still awaiting their transformation.

The bottles I found -

and the one I played around with -

Sigh, I want to be back in my little craftavan.

If you would like to see more pics from France, the cottage etc, you will find plenty on the blog, lol.

I am linking this post to the link party, of course

Have a terrific weekend, wherever you are, toodlepip xxx

Wanna see a couple of fab finds?

What would I do without my wonderful friends Frank and Christine, who live in the valley and can get broadband internet? We just had the most delicious dinner with them and now I am sitting here with my laptop, chatting with them and doing a quick post at the same time.

I thought I'd show you just a few recent finds. Guess what? LACE, of course, lol. I was thrilled to bits to find these beautiful laces, they are the most gorgeous colours, greens, blues, purple, and made with really fine thread as well.

OK, here goes............

In the same batch I also found the same sort of lace in different shades of cream and brown-

I found some really beautiful antique lace a couple of days ago at an evening vide greniers but I haven't edited the pics yet,, I'll leave that for another day.

Here are just a couple of other things -

Gorgeous old cast iron table bases -

Turn of the century floral ashtray-

Number plate of an old little French motorised bicycle

Thats all for today, have to get home before I drink too much of this very nice red wine. I hope to be able to do another post soon. Until then, toodlepip, miss you gals,
