Oooh, this is so exciting!

Most of you gals will know Sandy Babb from the Quill Cottage blog. She is a wonderful artist and this lovely and very generous person has made a fantastic tutorial for a Romantic Crazy Quilt Cuff -

Her step by step instructions are fabulous, everybody can follow them very easily. You see, I am a bit of a scaredycat, I panic somewhat when I want to do something new. I learn much better by watching then by reading instructions. So her tute is a godsend for people like me. Sandy has posted the first part of her tutorial on a specially created blog HERE. And guess what? It really inspired me to get started! I don't have a lot of fabrics in the craftavan, but it seems enough for this sort of thing :-) -

This first part is all about creating the foundation piece, stitching the various bits of fabric together -

Done it! I used little snippets of ticking fabric, antique linen, damask napkin, crushed pink velvet, broderie anglaise, fine brocade, net curtain and some sweet, very light pink fabric, no idea what it is called. Now I can't wait for the next part of the tutorial. This is exciting! Is it next week yet, is it next week yet, is it next week yet? Oh darn :(.

Enjoy your weekend! Until tomorrow, toodlepip xxx

I do enjoy following Sandy's blog and I did she is offering a free tutorial, so sweet of her to do that for us. I am not good at quilting at all so I don't think I will be doing the cuff, I will leave that up to the quilters and enjoy seeing what you create.
Thanks for stopping by my "neighbors" post. I do love seeing all of the wildlife up and down the roads.
Hugs
Michele

Your cuff is beautiful! I am terrible at hoarding little pieces of fabric. I just hate throwing the bits and pieces from projects away. This has inspired me to start tossing them into a little box to use for sweet projects like this. I popped over to see the tutorial and it is wonderful.
Thanks for sharing your cuff with us!

I am so excited, thank you for the info on Sandy's blog, I popped over and it is just what I've needed to get started on a project I've long wanted to do. Looks so much easier than my little brain thought it would be.
Your combo for your cuff has pretty texture and colors. Have fun with it.
Happy Sunday

Beautiful! What a great project. I haven't done crazy quilts for 30 years and now I see all kinds of projects with it. I think you picked out fabulous fabric and lace. I look forward to seeing how yours turns out.
I am sure it will be gorgeous : )
