What would I do without you?

You have been great, I was so pleased that so many of you took the trouble to help me with my dilemma. There were some excellent suggestions how to improve it as well, thank you so much for those. Well, so whats the outcome of it all? Which one did I decide on? Lolol, after all that, I decided to make both!!! One for my mummy and one for myself, and my mum can chose which one she would like. There were just as many people for the first one as for the second one, so it seemed the only sensible thing to do.

It was yet another beautiful day today, so my DH and I had a lovely womble through Hastings Old Town for a few hours. But I was determined to get one of the lavender pillows finished today. After all, I couldn't keep you in suspense any longer now, could I? Not after all your help. I chose to do the second design first, not because I prefer that one, but because it was still all laid out on the table, lol.

I should know better than to take photos in the evenings, sigh. Flash washes out the lace completely, and normal light bulbs make it all look orangy, like in the first photo. The others I took under a daylight lamp, which I use for cross stitch and crocheting etc.

Here it is then, a couple of firsts, lol, first printing on fabric, first fabric collage -

The weather forecast is not brilliant for tomorrow, so perhaps I'll give myself a kick up the butt and make the second one. Fingers crossed!

Oh, and I should have something to tell you all tomorrow as well, could even be a little bit exciting...........

Very pretty madam. I think Mummy is going to have a hard time choosing!

Oh, and don't you moan at me about trouble taking pics in bad light! You rotten moo, telling me off and then admitting to having trouble yourself. Humph.

Off now to pump you for information as to the exciting news.

That's lovely I am sure your mother would like that one but of course I haven't seen the second one yet! How did you print the photo - I have tried using transfer sheets but it isn't washable - not that a lavender cushion would need to be washable but just wondering if you have any better ideas.

It has turned out so very lovely,
it is beautifull, in the faded colors, and so wonderfull created.
Is it filled only with lavender? and how big is it, dear? I love it.
Have a wonderfull evening.

Thank you so much for the sweet comments! Just to answer a couple of questions - the little pillow is approx 25cm square. I stuffed it with a soft toy filling first, round the edges and into the corners, and then put in 4 or 5 handfuls of French lavender. Bit more filling to seal the lavender in, and then I closed it up. xx

Outstanding!!!!!!!!!! Goodness me you have quite blown me away with that absolutely georgous lavender pillow. Of course it was my pick so I would love it so much. You must be so pleased with how it has turned out.

Now tell me, is that special olden day thread for the buttons as well? It really suits so well. And that flower on the right near the photo looks a bit like a butterfly - so cute.

Can you just how impressed I am with you? Really it is so beautiful you clever lady and I look forward to seeing the second one. Now to email Jo and see if she has found out your secret!!

Oh and I see you new addition to your sidebar! Very very nice. Gosh it's such a lovely picture. Perhaps you could go into card production in your spare time.

They are beautiful. Tell me where you get those pieces of lace and little crocheted things you use? I have looked at Walmart and that is the only place I know to look. WM does not have any of that. Gongrats on your husbands early retirement. I am so happy for you both.

Oh wow Lizzie, I loved examining those little stitch details. You are so neat! I am such a sloppy-joe when it comes to sewing.

How big is this lavender pillow, if you don't mind my asking...

Get on with the 1st (symmetrical) design, and let's see if we'd change our votes :)
