Simply Neutrals Tuesday - Fabric Fragments

Because we spent so much time in France, I hadn't been to any English boot fairs for a long long time. But last Sunday, I finally managed to get to the last Icklesham boot fair of the season. I did find a few little bits and pieces, but my favourite finds were these, just little bits of salvaged fabrics from garments spanning many decades -

1960s heavy satin embroidered and beaded evening gown fragments -

A beautiful Edwardian battenburg lace collar which the seller had rescued from a tattered dress -

Late 19th Century hand made broderie anglaise trim, most likely from a Victorian undergarment -

Collar from a 1950s wedding dress. The silk is shattered, but the embroidery is salvageable and so pretty -

Also amongst the bits and pieces was this beautiful, large lace motif -

Hop over to Wen's blog and drool over all the other beautiful neutrals!

I bought a couple of other fabricy bits and pieces as well, like this gorgeous piece of a lace flounce from a 1930s Hollywood style evening dress -

but they don't really fit in with this Simply Neutrals post, so I'll leave them for another day.

Haven't been blogging much lately, I have been so busy trying to build up stock in my Etsy shop with lots of gorgeous French treasures from my many collections.

Oh my goodness Liz what an amazing lace overload! The first beaded and embroidered piece is truly incredible. Every piece is amazing but I especially love that sweet battenburg collar - it is so delicate so too is the broderie anglaise trim.
All to die for!
Thanks for sharing these with us!
I'm just knocked out right now!
