Not a brocante in sight

As I told you a couple of posts ago, at this time of the year there are no brocantes or vide greniers in our area of France, but last week I did go to a local ( very expensive, grr ) charity shop and bought a few things. I showed you a couple of things in this post, but the other stuff had to wait for better weather. And as we had a couple of hours of sunshine yesterday, I photographed most of the bits and pieces. Nothing hugely exciting, but hey, some of the pieces made me smile. For example, this little creature -

At first I thought it was a deer, but when I looked at the head properly, I realised that it is more like a young Ibex. Ah well, whatever it is, it is sooo cute!

Found another sweet little Digoin/Sarreguemines cafe au lait bowl as well. Front -
 and back -

Vintage chocolate egg mold, well, half of it anyway. Perfect for altering and putting a little Easter scene inside, dontcha think? -

Isn't this pewter plate great? I love the armorial design -

What else did I get? Ah yes, wine tasting cups, I think they are awesome -

I love wood, it is such wonderfully tactile stuff, and if it is carved beautifully, even better. I found this great little piece at the same place -

I use these enamelled, errm, pots, in the garden, planted up with geraniums and fuchsias -
isn't that the prettiest shade of blue?

Found a box full of old buttons as well and spent a couple of hours happily sorting them into the different colours. These are the mother of pearl buttons I dug out -

This cup is chipped. On the rim and on the foot. But it is such a sweet commemorative cup, First Holy Communion, that I just couldn't leave it behind. I think it is so precious despite the chips -

Oh, and last but not least, a little blast of colour, this stunning fuchsia pink, very wide lace -

There were a couple of other things, but the sunlight didn't last long enough, so they will have to wait for yet another day.

Until then, toodlepip xxx

Hello sweet friend
I'm way behind in my comments to you!
You know those cushions are gorgeous and well! what can I say about the beautiful post on the most gorgeous linens etc. - that petticoat, tablerunner and that tablecloth just take my breath away! So adorable!
I'm just glad that you don't live toooo close!!!!
Now have to say those wine tasting cups are rather special and so too, to me, is that beautiful carved piece of wood. I just love that!!!
Such beautiful pearl buttons - oh! and how special is that chipped Holy Communion Cup - a real collectable - chipped and all!
Sending lots of belated party hugs to you Liz,
Suzy

Well Liz even though the sales aren't going on right now you still manage to find the coolest stuff!
Yes that egg mold would be a perfect backdrop for an Easter scene!
Love the petticoat and lace in your last post.
Bet your itching for warmer weather and a chance to go shopping!
