France again

Well, I did say yesterday that I would probably be posting photos from France all week long. Just tell me if/when you get fed up with seeing me going on about France................ and I'll ignore you, rofl. Nah, of course not, but I'll try and find something else to entertain you with. For a day or two.

Anyhoo, here are just a few iddybiddy bits from around the cottage and the garden, nothing fancy or grand, just bits I like having around -

A sweet old wooden game. I keep it in a small old enamelled tub -

A green glass thingy, I have no idea whether it is meant to be a bowl or a vase or something else entirely, but I don't mind at all, I just love the delicate shimmery green colour and the beautiful pattern. It usually lives on the windowsill in the kitchen, but for some reason it was too difficult to get decent pics there, so I took it outside and it looked rather good amongst the mossy stones -

The two stoneware bottles also live on the windowsill in the kitchen. I love the Prunelle label -

I have always loved the texture and colours of those fabulous Lloyd Loom chairs. Sarah will quickly point out to you that I do my Crocheting Granny bit in one, sitting by the fire. I was lucky enough to find one at a boot fair, which had not been painted over. The original colour, the gold fading to green, is so delicious -

Bit of an eclectic selection of things I have shown you so far, right? Well, follow me into the garden for a minute, and it'll get even worse, lol.

Just look at this wonderful contraption! I had a heck of a time pursuading my husband that it really really was a fabulous piece, and that I had to have it. Had to. The plan was to lovingly restore it and actually use it ( to sharpen all kinds of tools and knives etc ), but after it had been in the garden for a little while, I grew to love it out there. I couldn't bring myself to scrape of all the pretty mosses and lichen from the stone. Please tell me you are with me on that one, or am I really as bonkers as my family says I am??

That is almost it. I thought perhaps I finish off with a little bit of drama though. The weather is not always fab, and the sunrises are not always pretty oranges and pinks. But sometimes they are quite dramatic -

Back tomorrow with a few more pics of the cottage and with some brocante finds ( on the vintageland blog ).

Ah but did Sarah tell you she ALSO has a lloyd loom chair with her crochet blankets and cushions sitting on it - near one of the fab picture windows she has at her place - I'm sure that's where she sits and crochets! ;-)

I am with you with the machinery - it looks great and I would HAVE to have it as well! LOL

Hmmm, I understand your liking for old things, we once had a cider press! But now, for me, things have to be very lovely to remain in my garden.

Just come to check out my button for the swap. Looking good. I was hoping it would actually work and not take over anyone's column or anything tragic like that.

Yes you probably are bonkers. But in the nicest possible way, and just as bonkers as I am :-)
