Typical Bank Holiday weekend

I was looking forward to the long weekend, car boot fairs galore! There were a couple advertised for Saturday, but I knew I wouldn't be able to go to them as we had Paige staying with us. Still, there was always the Sunday and then also the Bank Holiday Monday. Woohoo? NOT, sigh. I knew that rain had been predicted for Sunday, but living right on the coast, often the weather has a mind of its own, and I was hoping that perhaps we would be spared. But spared we were not, it rained solidly all day long. I was miffed, but thought, hey, Monday is supposed to be a lovely day, there is at least ONE boot fair I can go to. The day dawned cold but dry and sunny and I was sooo looking forward to my womble. And of course, the usual Bank Holiday disaster happened, it was CANCELLED! The field was too wet. Great, eh? Why oh why can't we do what the French do and have our boot fairs in town, close a couple of roads, and have proper hard surfaces to put stalls on, rather than fields which seem to be waterlogged more often than not.

So I made a few tags with some leftover bits and pieces which I had lying around on my desk in a little tub. All three are very different, no common theme, I just used what I could find in the tub with leftovers -

The image on the last tag is from my own collection, but I can't remember where I got the image of the birdie in the cage from! If any of you recognise it, please let me know so that I can credit the person who shared the image so generously.

Now for me this is a very short post, mainly due to the lack of boot fair booty of course, lol. Tomorrow we are off to France again for a week, so I won't be around for a while. I'll be thinking of you all though. Keep your fingers crossed for me that we might find a vide greniers to go to while we are there! See you next Wednesday or Thursday! xxx

Our village used to have one of the best cide grenniers in the area and we used to end up being a stopping off point for anyone we vaguely knew for coffee afterwards - all very civilised. Good luck next week.

Liz, lovely tags! You didn't let any grass grow under your feet even though they weren't trodding the boot sales.

We were in Burton on The Water for a bank holiday years ago. Oh my goodness! You couldn't move for the number of people! LOL! But I did find a lovely little shop where I bought a tiny English cottage to keep always as a sweet memory.

Hi Liz! I've never heard about car boot fairs: it sounds funny. Here in Italy I don't think we have something similar.
Your tags are delicious and sooo romantic! Gorgeous :)
Have a nice week in France.
Talk to you soon.
Lol.

Yup, the three boot fairs (one each day over BH) local to me were cancelled. Annoying, isn't it? Let's hope for better weather next weekend. xx

Liz,
Love, LOVE your tags! Car boot sales. I love the name. What's it mean? I know it's a flea market but what does that have to do with car boot? LOL Lisa

Hi Liz, Such pretty tags! Love your use of vintage lace and the vintage woman image - very lovely!
Sorry to hear about the canceled boot sales, though... but being in France will surely make up for that, won't it? Thanks for sharing your lovely creations!

Hi Lulu-Catching up after a long absence...Wonderful booty below-that copper/green lamp is amazing. I love your bits and pieces tags. they are sweet and fun. I like to use up little things at random like that. I also like the forget-me-not image. I managed to inherit a couple of old scrapbooks of things like that. They have such a sweet sentimental style!
Have a wonderful trip!
