Spreading a little happiness instead

I don't want to feel angry, scared, despairing of humanity any longer, I decided to spread just a little bit of happiness instead. So I finished a quilt , started many years ago, which my son Nick had been waiting for so patiently -

I sent some money to an animal charity, desperately trying to raise funds -

https://www.facebook.com/Help-Bulgaria-Street-Cats-and-Dogs-find-Forever-Homes-669151113196963/

I started a quilt for a little girl who is suffering from a rare disease ( daughter of one of my son's work mates )

and I am going to have a little GIVEAWAY! No photos, because I would like the giveaway to be something YOU really enjoy. So, if you love laces and fabrics, your pressie will be just that. If you love paper ephemera, your package will have lots of cool French and English ephemera. Like French vintage? Tell me the kind of thing you like, and I'll try and find something to please you amongst my hoarded French treasures -

Just comment on this post to let me know that you would like to win the givewaway, and what makes your heart beat a little faster :-).

I have also finally started on my Christmas cards -

I prefer being happy.

So good to see your lovely post. I've been missing in blogland also. I have been praying if only there could be Peace Around the World. My heart beats a little faster over the lack of respect our country has lost, the violence, terrible negative things on FB,( trying to avoid them.)and a good heart beat for sharing fun, off the diet food with long lost friends. And your post made me realize, it's time to go on and do some of the fun things I enjoy.
Your beautiful Christmas cards, lovely quilt and your precious little dogs, has put a smile on my face. Thank You. Have a lovely weekend. Our 12 inches of first new snow has enlightened me also. It's a winter glistening wonderland out there.

Liz, so glad you're back. Your quilts and cards are beautiful. I really don't know what to say about Paris. It just doesn't feel real. We can only hope that love will overcome such savagery. I'm listening to my football team at 3pm. (Norwich City) and along with all other clubs they will be playing the Marseillaise before the game. We are all thinking of you and Paris. Blessings

The quilt looks marvelous! Great job as always. Glad you are creating your Christmas cards already. I'm waiting for a Cyber Monday sale at my favorite inkjet paper company. Anyway, I digress. Should my name be drawn for your wonderful giveaway, I would love some of the delicious laces and fabrics you often show on your blog that you have found at the brocantes in France.

Dearest Liz
I am so pleased you have found your positive heart again to create these gorgeous Peace on Earth cards - so beautiful as always!

That quilt is fantastic too. I bet Poppy and Hector are going to be a bit peeved when you give it to Nick. After all why can't it stay on the couch for them??? LOL!
I too have lifted my veil today and am trying to recover my apathy and sympathy too never forgetting the sate of so many ruined lives.
It is so much better to work with a generous heart than to close up shop. Bless you dear friend,

Suzy from downunder but not under!!!

My dear Liz,
so wonderful to see you here again, and to know, you are feeling better, even we all ,in our hearts will keep a fear and a big sadness for this world and what happens all over in it !!
But you shows again your big heart , dear friend, with that wonderful give away where the lucky one can wish from the heart , how beautiful is that.
The donation to the dog-cat home is surely being treasured so very much, too, as the loving idea to create a quilt for your son`s workmates daughter , is beautiful Liz.
And how stunning is your cards, I love the serene beauty you created, and the use of the kneeling angel statue ,- and with the lovely new and old fabrics !!
A post filled with your heart and your love !!
Hugs from Dorthe

Nick will be happy to receive that beautiful quilt and what a lovely gesture to make a quilt for that little girl as well. It's difficult not to think about what happened in Paris but creating helps to feel a bit better. I love you for sending some money to an animal charity, dear Liz! You're so sweet!!!
Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway! If I would win, I would like some small items (wood, metal etc.) to use in assemblages.
Hugs & ♥

Liz,

Your Christmas cards are as beautiful as your heart. I have several of your lovely ATCs from Kimberly's swaps and found your blog that way. French vintage ephemera or book pages and old lovely lace do make my heart beat a bit faster. I live in Southern California, and it seems that at jaunts to flea markets and garage sales I am more apt to find "mid century modern" than old world treasures. I spent my sophomore year of college in Heidelberg Germany 30+ years ago and made several trips over to stunning Paris during the year. So very sad that the very few with hearts of stone can impact so greatly the great preponderance of generous, loving souls that abound! Amy Bauer

What a kind thing to do! We all need to spread a little more happiness. :-) The quilt is beautiful and so is the pooch! The memories of my beloved dog, Samson, makes my heart sing. He was my best friend and left an imprint on my eternal heart.
