A quick update

I have been away for such a long time without any explanation, I feel really terrible about it. I don't often write about personal problems on the blog, but I have had so many wonderful friends checking up on me, I thought I had better assure you all that I am still alive and kicking, lol.

It is a bit of a health issue which has kept me away. A few weeks ago, I was feeling so dizzy all the time with constant chest pains etc, and that frightened me enough in the end to overcome my dislike of going to the doctors. Turned out I had extremely high blood pressure ( 210 over 110 ) and rapid heart beat, and the doc seemed a tad concerned, yikes! An immediate ECG showed the heart was ok though, apart from the rapid heart beat. He put me on some blood pressure pills immediately and arranged for me to see a cardiologist a few days later. He thinks heart is ok, but cholesterol is high, so now I am on an interesting mix of pills and a no salt, no fat diet, well, as low as possible, some you just can't avoid, even with the most careful attention. I am feeling somewhat better by now, but just haven't been in the right frame of mind to get crafting or blogging. So there you have it, my love of food is probably what caused it all. Hopefully, with the very strict diet and pills, I'll be back to normal pretty soon.

In the meantime, big hugs to all of you, and I hope you stick around for when I give myself a kick up the butt and get crafting again.

I'm relieved that you had a doctor check you. The combination of dizziness and chest pains is nothing to take lightly. Do take your health expert's advice, but we all know how difficult it is to abandon the love for food... Hope you feel better with the medication!

Dearest Liz, you can be sure I -(we) will be around, following you when you are yourself again, and returns.
I`m happy you wrote this note, as I started to worry again, not seing you here.
So dear friend,-I`m sure you will soon be your good old again, and feel to create. I hope you can get used to your very low fat/salt food, and learn to make most delicious meals without both.
Blessings, and hugs, from Dorthe

Oh lady I am so sorry to hear about your problems. But better to catch it now than later. I have been in your shoes just this last August. Hope you adjust to your medicine better than I have. My father used to say his medicine was killing him and now I know what he was talking about. You are so right about not wanting to craft or anything. Part of it is adjusting to the medicine and part is the depression from realizing that none of us is going to get out of this life alive. Its been 3 months for me and I am just beginning to reconnect with life and things around me. Hang in there, your blog is one of my favorites ~ I can't wait to see the pretties you find when you go shopping. My prayers are with you.
Hugs ~ Mary

Hi liz,
Thank goodness you spotted it. This happened to me and I ignored it and then became ill at my sons house and ended hurtling through the London rush hour in an ambulance. I was saved by the wonderful doctors at the London Chest Hospital.
Now you can take steps to keep well and life will be good.
Hugs and best wishes, Angela.

So glad you did not just pass it off.
Going to the Dr., while not our favorite thing, was the best thing you could have done.

You should start feeling better soon and will get back to your wonderful bocantes and stories from you French home.

We also have 2 homes and that in itself can be cause for anxiety and
exhaustion. Take care of yourself.

Oh, no, dear Liz! I am so sorry that you haven't been feeling well, but now that you know what is wrong and have been given the tools to fight it, you are now well on the road to feeling like yourself again!♥

Please take care of yourself; the blog can wait--nothing is more important than your health, and the last thing in the world you need right now is added stress in your life.

Sending many prayers and hugs,

Pat xoxo

P.S. Betsy, you are so funny! I *love* exclamation points, too!!
