Aaaahhh, velvet! Ooooh, ribbons!

Well, I did promise yesterday to post piccies of those totally yummylicious velvet ribbons which my DH has bought me for Christmas ( and which I will tell him about when he asks me what I want for Christmas, lol ).

They are soft, and they are shiny, and they are immensely strokable, and did I mention that they are ever so soft? The colours are gorgeous, mostly pastels, although there are a couple of greens as well. Hmm, you may not think so from the first few pics, because the olive green velvet ribbon didn't photograph well at all. I have no idea why it came out all weird and sickly orangy/mustardy looking in the photos. See that miserable little whatsit on the right hand side? I had to severely photoshop it in the single pic, but I think I got the olive green about right there ( see last single pic ).

Anyway, without further ado, dive into this velvety smoothness, and just imagine running these soft soft soft ribbons through your fingers.......

Of course, you want to see close ups of all the ribbons, don't you? Lol, well, you gonna get them anyway, want them or not!

I know exactly what you are going to ask me now........ what the heck am I going to do with all that yummy scrummy velvety fabulousness? Errm............ apart from fondling and stroking, and oohing and aaahing over, I have no definite plans, some vague ideas of course, yes, but I am open to suggestions!

xx

Lovely, lovely ribbons. If they were mine after I had finished stroking them and admiring them I might make something in ribbon weaving with some of them and maybe use the rest to trim a cardigan front where the buttons go with perhaps a few ribbon roses too or ..... What fun to decide!

My heart skipped a beat! Love ribbons! I am trying to plan a trip over to a ribbon shop in Atlanta. If you have seen the latest Victoria magazine they were featured in there, and all I can say is WOW! I wanna go!!! So I can't wait to see what you might do with all of your ribbons!

I am looking for some pinks and greens like that. Ya they have ribbons a lot of places, but when you have a color or texture in mind, of course that is the ones you can't find. Can't wait to see what happens to them.

I always feel surprised when people ask me what I'm going to do with these things. Isn't it enough that I own them?

However, in time, I always do seem to find something to do with them. I have two books on Ribbon Craft (one French and fairly modern, one English and more '90s). If you give me some guidelines I could photo some of the projects for you!

OK now I understand your new love! They do look so soft. Can I have a wee fondle too, please? What are they made from? They look really silky.
