Back in the Craft Room

It feels good. I hadn't been in here for weeks, and the room is so disorganised and messy and I really need to spend a lot of time tidying up, but I am just so happy to be back in here and creating little bits and pieces again.

You know how much I love making tags, dontcha ;-), and you probably also know that I take part in the Tag Tuesday challenges over at the Tag Tuesday blog. I have missed a few tags during the year, but I didn't want to miss the very last tags of the year, Christmas and New Year. The Christmas tag you have already seen in a previous post, but here is the New Year tag, which I made yesterday, when I finally got my printer working again -

I used an image from a 1905 postcard and coloured the lady's dress with a Promarker ( love those pens ). First outing for some sequins I had found at a boot fair in the summer, I love the gorgeous sea green and deep aqua colours.  Added a bit of sparkle with my treasured Gelly Roll pen. Velvety millinery leaves, lace and metal numbers, and that was just about it. Found some matching silk and sari ribbons in my stash to finish it off.

I also played with my Big Shot a bit, and finally made some Tattered Florals flowers, yay -

And now I am off out walking the dogs with my DH in the Firehills.

I love the tag! The Cream and that intense blue~green, almost teal...it is striking. The ribons and leaves and sequins and bling....I just love it. The paper flowers are so sweet, as well! I remember making flowers years ago, at least a million years ;). when I was young, helping to make flowers for corasges for my sister's wedding reception. They were made of paper pulp...if I recall correctly...they felt somewhat spongey...but your flowers remind me of them...I had not thought of those in years....
Such fun!
Hearts to you, sweet friend,
Betsy
