A mixed bag

I am back in the land of the living, sort of, lol, but enough said, no more talk about horrid colds.

I hadn't played over at the Our Beautiful World blog for some time, it seems I only get the camera out for things other than Etsy shop goods and tags when we are in France. This week's theme is ' what light through yonder window breaks ', and yes, of course, it was taken in France, lol, through the kitchen window in our cottage -

A storm was approaching and the sky was turning a very dark grey in the distance, yet our little cottage was still bathed in glorious sunshine. I love that kind of light, just before a storm breaks.

Next, this week's tag for the current challenge over at the Tag Tuesday blog. The theme is TEXT. I think I must have had Spring on my brain, because I used four different Distress Inks in pretty pastel Spring colours for the blended background. I made a stencil with different sized holes and used my favourite metallic ink ( copper ) on it and then printed some handwriting text in black ink here and there. The focal point of the tag is a torn piece of TEXT from a wonderful ( but sadly broken) 1713 Italian book. I edged the tag with a gold ink marker and added a seam binding ribbon-

And last but not least, a few photos, taken recently with my phone, whilst out walking with the dogs in the Firehills, our Country Park right on the cliff tops -

Occasionally, these beautiful shaggy ponies are right up on the cliff tops as well. Hector couldn't care less, lol, but they drive Poppy nuts, so she has to go back on the lead when we get close. I do love these beautiful, their rough coats, their beautiful colour and their big soulful eyes. They are so friendly as well and don't mind the dogs one bit.

Enjoy life, stay warm if it is still winter for you, and stay cool if summer temps are soaring where you are. Toodlepip xxx

Going round and round

I have dragged myself off  my sickbed to bring you this tale of woe, sob sob. As I mentioned previously, a couple of weeks or so ago, my DH came down with a horrid cold, swiftly followed by my youngest son. Once they were a little better, I fell ill. After a few days I felt better and thought we were back to normal. Oh no, no such luck. As soon as I was well, both husband and son went down with the same horrid coughy cold with me looking after them. They got a little better, and then, you guessed it, I went down with it again. I'll spare you the details though, lol, but I might not be around for another couple of days.

Had to remind you that I am still alive though, lol, so I am showing you my Tag Tuesday tag ( thankfully made in advance ) and a few tags which went out with customer orders.

Tag Tuesday theme was VALENTINE -

I came across this beautiful painting a while ago and thought she would look lovely on some tags -

and a card or two -

Oh, and I had to make a couple of tiny little boxes, one for a rosary and one for a beautiful religious brooch pin -

I hope you are all well and keeping busy creating beautiful new treasures. I a off to bed again :-(. Toodlepip xxx

Feeling BLUE?

No, not at all, it is a gloriously sunny day today, and although the wind is bitterly cold, it was such a pleasure walking the dogs along the cliff top this morning.

But, BLUES is the theme for this week's tag over at the TAG TUESDAY blog. Yes I know, it is only Monday, but dang it all, I am in the mood for creating lately, so I got my tag done early, whoopee!

I started with a piece of dotted paper from a 6x6 stack called Silent Night. I made a big blossom from a length of recycled sari silk ribbon and added some vintage stamen to it. Then I added a little spray of small vintage French flowers/leaves (?) made with tiny little blue beads and some small blue flowers from ArtJoyStuff's Etsy shop. A little stamped script, a few stamped birds and bees to remind me that Spring is just around the corner and that was just about it -

And now I have to do something about my poor neglected Etsy shop. First the rotten cold and the spurt of creativity have meant that I have not added anything to it for quite a while. Off I go to photograph, edit, measure, package, weigh and write. Or give a a good excuse to create something else, tehehehe.

Have a great week, and thank you for stopping by,
