Flash Weekend Giveaway! NOW CLOSED

I was very lucky to find a roll of gorgeous 1950s lingerie lace at a little brocante. I love the soft cafe au lait color and the pretty floral design.

And because there are many yards of this lace, I thought I'd share my good fortune and send three yards of this lace to one of my followers.

Leave a comment on this post and your name will go into the hat. I like drawing a winner the old fashioned folded paper bits way. I'll do the draw on Monday.

I HAVE ADDED A COUPLE MORE BITS TO THE GIVEAWAY, SEE SUNDAY'S POST :-). -

Fabric Cuff No. 2, oh, and as an afterthought, a little giveaway

I had so much fun making the crazy quilt fabric cuff following Sandy Babb's excellent tutorial, that I decided to make another cuff. Different to the first one, of course, I didn't want it to be a copy of the first one.

I used a small doily for the focal point of the cuff, and embellished the cuff with beads, freshwater pearls, Swarovski AB crystals and other bits and pieces -

Like the first one, it is lined with a very soft vintage French flannel fabric. I could get quite used to wearing these cuffs, I think they look gorgeous on your wrist. Perhaps not when I am grubbing around in the garden, planting my tomatoes, lol. Ah well, there is no chance of that at the moment anyway. Yes you guessed it, it is chucking it down again. We had a couple of hours of no rain this morning, which was very fortuitous, as there was a little brocante near us. Found a few things, but minutes after we got back home, it started raining again. And hasn't stopped since.

Do you know what? Just to cheer myself up, I think I will have a little giveaway. Fancy a fabric wrist cuff for yourself? Leave a comment on THIS post, and in a week or so I will draw a winner. I'll make a custom wrist cuff for you, and might just include a brocante find or two....... Hmm. As I have only just thought of the giveaway, I will have to have a think about the details, dates etc. I'll let you know in my next post, but start leaving your comment HERE right now.

Have a lovely weekend wherever you are, toodlepip xxx

Celebrating !

If I was into celebrating a lot, I would be completely worn out after this long weekend. Saturday was St. Patrick's Day, yesterday was Mother's Day here in the UK, today is my birthday, tomorrow is our 31st Wedding Anniversary and on Tuesday it is my almost-daughter-in-law's birthday. Quite a weekend, don't you think? Lol, I don't think I can handle 5 consecutive days of heavy celebrating anymore. Definitely enough reasons to do at least a little bit of celebrating though. But there are other reasons for little celebrations as well - over 400 followers on this blog, over 100 followers on the Vintageland blog, over 100 sales in my Etsy shop, those are jolly nice reasons as well.

So I finally got my butt into gear and started on a Celebration Giveaway, because I am so grateful for so many things and all your encouragement and inspiration. I altered a little egg box and filled it with all kinds of little treasures -

That is as far as I have gotten. I'll be adding a few things over the next few days, so keep your eyes on this post. I'll put a button on my sidebar with a link to this post, so that you can easily check once in a while. And of course, if you would like to put the button and link to the post onto your sidebar as well, that would be great.

What do you need to do? Not a lot, lol. Just be a follower and leave a comment on this post, and make sure that I can easily find your email addy. You can enter until the 31st March, and I will announce the winner ( or winners ) on the 1st April. No April Fool's joke, honestly!!! I'll do the draw the old fashioned way, I'll draw the name ( or names ) out of my good ole heart shaped box, as usual.

Thats it for the moment, back to gently celebrating and making tags and restocking the shop and making inchies and and and.........

Almost forgot, here is the button, if you would like to use it on your sidebar to find my post again quickly -

We have a winner!! Or could that possibly be winnerS?

You know, it takes an awful long time write out all the names of the good folk who entered the giveaway. And to visit their blogs ( you will find out a bit later why I did that ). And then to fold all the iddy biddy pieces of paper. Only to find that the heart box I normally use for drawing winners is now full of inchies. Arrghh. And I didn't want to mess them about ( fragile little darlings ), so I used a very pretty little flower tin for the draw instead. I had to take the photos of the draw with flash, which is a nuisance.

My DS No. 3 picked the winner for me. I was so excited!!! Are you? Before I announce the winner though, I just want to remind you all what was on offer -

The collage, made with lots of antique and vintage French goodies

The vintage Eiffel Tower

The vintage French ephemera

the lace and trims

And those goodies are going to -

LYNNE MONCRIEFF from the delicious ADORN blog. Congratulations, Lynn, could you contact me please with your addy?

When I was thinking about the draw this afternoon, I realised that it would be a bit of an anticlimax after the draw had finished and the winner announced. I thought I'd be feeling a bit deflated. Can't have that on a Sunday evening, can we? Sooooooooooo........................

I decided to have two more winners, yay!!!

I prepared two little packs. A few bits of ephemera in one, and a few bits of lace in the other.
I wanted to make this draw a little bit different though. I decided that firstly I would have a separate draw for the very lovely people who had put my button with link back on their blog, even though I had said it wasn't a requirement for entering. That is why it took me sooooo long to prepare the draw, lol, I visited all the blogs!

The winner of this category receives the little ephemera pack. I suppose I had better show you pics, lol -

There are pages from an 1888 French book and a couple of music pages

pages from a very old French religious book and two 1960s French communion cards

vintage French blank luggage labels, Larousse dictionary pages and a page from a 1928 "agenda"

And the winner of this little ephemera pack is -

none other than

Congratulations, Lynn and thank you so much for putting the button on your sidebar. Her blog is just fabulous, if you have not seen it yet, do pay it a visit, you'll love it. Can I have your addy, please, Lynn? Oh, and yes, I WILL add some wine labels as well, lol, I just forgot to get them out.

For the little lace pack, I thought I'd have a draw amongst the lovely people who started following my blog in the last couple of months. The winner of that draw will receive -

Some of the fabulous antique coloured lace

A gorgeous little silk embroidered motif from the 30s, probably for lingerie-

a little bag full of vintage French mother-of-pearl buttons

and of course the fabric, a piece of gorgeous vintage French damask ticking-

The winner of this is

Terry from Terry's blog. Now here is a co-incidence. Terry is a new follower who came over from Lynn Stevens' blog, because she had seen the button there! Congratulations, Terry, please contact me with your address details.

Well, thats all folks. Thank you so much to all of you for entering and making this so exciting for me. I am sorry I had to disappoint so many of you, but don't worry, I am sure I will be having another giveaway before too long.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, toodlepip xxx

THE FRENCH GIVEAWAY FINISHES TODAY!

It is 2pm on this beautiful, very sunny Sunday afternoon, and it is almost time to close the giveaway. I will be closing it at 5pm UK time, that is in approx. 3 hours, and I may have some little surprises.............

So, if you have only just read about it, it is not yet too late, you can click on the photo below and leave a comment.

I am so excited, I will be writing out the names of everybody who has entered and put them in the usual heart shaped box. I much prefer this method to an online generator thingy. You know, I think I might just have a small glass of wine when I am finally ready to draw the winner. Later on this evening. After dinner probably.

Good luck!

PS I had a lovely morning at a boot fair today. I think it was the last outdoor one. It was scorching hot, and there were too many people, and I got all hot and bothered, but it was worth it, I did find some lovely little bits and pieces. I'll show you tomorrow!

It is pink and floaty and absolutely gorgeous and I so wish I could wear it. I would, you know. I can see myself prancing around in this, well floating around in this -
