Whats in the box under the pink tissue paper???

Some of you may have had the same experience. Of opening that box, removing the pink tissue paper, and finding underneath.......................... Vicki's latest nest!!! I was one of the very lucky ones to get onto the list for this nest.

We were driving down the little country lane down the hill when I spotted the post office van coming up the hill. I just had to stop and waive the post lady down. In typical French style we stopped our cars next to each other, opened the windows and I asked her whether she had a package for us. And she did!! My nest from Vicki, hurrah!

And now all of you who didn't get one of Vicki's nest can feast your eyes on this -

The sweet bunting was made for all the nests by my darling friend Suzy, of Suziqu's Threadworks -

and this darling little butterfly was made by sweet Karen from Todolwen -

For the moment it rests on my old treadle sewing machine, and greets me every time I go upstairs -

I can't thank this amazing woman enough for creating such beauty for us. Do visit her beautiful blog and perhaps one day you will get the chance to own one of her creations. They help support such a worthwhile cause, which you can find out about on her blog.

Blissful Whites on the line

Time again for Blissful Whites Wednesday over at the gorgeous TIMEWASHED blog!

Isn't this blissful? Laundry on the line in the garden, blown about by a (not so ) gentle breeze coming up from the valley -

I finally managed to find some lovely old French red striped towels at some brocantes I have been to recently. Boy, these towels are becoming so rare in our area, it is ridiculous. I should hoard these really, squirrel them away and just admire them every now and then. Hang them in the kitchen but don't use them. All these things go through my mind when I get so frustrated at brocantes because I can't find any towels.

And here they are, laundered and dried and looking oh so lovely in a pile -

Some are the softest cotton, like a tiny waffle weave or huckaback, some are pure linen, still with that gorgeous linen colour and the beautiful blobby threads, all are gorgeous.

I'll be linking this post to Becky's BLISSFUL WHITES WEDNESDAY party over at her TIMEWASHED blog.

A session in the craftavan

I had big plans for a long session in the craftavan today, but didn't get everything I wanted to do done. Ah well, there is always tomorrow, right?

Here is what I did manage to finish -

The ATCs for Kimberly latest ATC swap, True Blue Sweetheart, over at the ArtJoyStuff blog -

Ah, now this is a great opportunity to mention her fabulous GIVEAWAY. What a great chance to go shopping in her gorgeous Etsy shop!

I also made this week's TAG TUESDAY tag. The theme was METAL. Lacking anything in the way of metal paints, rubs, stains etc., I resorted to tightly scrunched alu kitchen foil, which I then flattened again, and lovely old watch parts, which I had bought at a brocante last week -

and a little tag to go with an Etsy order -

Clouds and Tags

The prompt for this week over at the OUR BEAUTIFUL WORLD blog is CLOUDS. I have lost count of how many times I have photographed clouds over the valley here at the cottage in France. Every day I open the front door and look out over the valley and the view is different. Sometimes we are in the clouds, and the world around us is very hazy, sometimes we are above a low layer of clouds and the valley is gone, just mysterious little humps sticking up out of the whiteness. Sometimes the clouds are so very angry, black and grey and threatening a huge storm, and sometimes they are so beautifully coloured by the rising sun that it brings tears to my eyes. So here is just a random selection -

So many different moods, yet all taken from more or less the same place in the garden.

I have also unpacked the rest of my craft supplies and finished organising the craftavan. Had to, lol, desperately needed tags to send out with Etsy orders. And I also managed the tag for this week's Tag Tuesday. The theme was DOLLS. I decided to make a little paper and lace doll and attach it to a tag -

She has the sweetest face and I used her on some customer tags as well -

I made a Pierrot tag to go with the Pierrot tin as well -

I made a few more, but forgot to take pics before they went on their way.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, especially those of you who were celebrating Mothers Day yesterday ( UK had it ages ago ). Have a great week,
