All tagged out

Nah, never, I love tags. After all the excitement of the OWOH event, I really needed to sit down and make something, and making tags was the obvious thing to do. I don't need to get the sewing machine out for that, I don't need too many supplies, and although it takes me quite a while to make a tag ( because I am a fardledardler ), it is not too time consuming. And of course, I still had to make the TAG TUESDAY challenge tag!

Let me show you that one first. The theme for this week was " Friends ".

With all the bloggy love flying around this week wtih the OWOH event, it had to be about Blogger friends of course!

Another tag I made -

And this one -

I quite enjoyed tearing strips off the music sheet, so I made some more -

Dang, paper tearing is fun! So I made even more, lol -

But then I decided that 6 were quite enough, so before I got too carried away, I put the paper away.

See, almost tagged out! The next couple of days I really really got to try and work my way through the mess in my workroom, I can't move without falling over boxes, bags, bits and pieces. How does that happen so quickly???

I had a gorgeous little package in the post today, but I think it deserves a post on its own, not tagged onto the tags ( oh good grief ), so I'll show you some pics tomorrow.

For now, have a fun weekend, toodlepip xxx

One World One Heart 2011 Winners !

Gosh, I am exhausted! Is anybody else suffering from OWOHitis? I have tried my very best to get around to all wonderful bloggers who took part in the OWOH event, but I couldn't quite manage it. I was in France ( without internet access ) for half of the event, and as hard as I tried, I just couldn't do it. Having said that, I found some wonderful blogs which were new to me, and which I will thoroughly enjoy visiting again now that the event of the year is over. It also seems that others found my blog interesting enough to follow and come back to visit..... YOOHOOOO, hello and welcome, I am so pleased you like it here!

I have already seen posts popping up all over the place, announcing the winners of their door prizes, so I thought I had better get a move on as well. That generator thingy on the net is too impersonal for me, so that was out. I thought about writing all the names on pieces of paper like I usually do with my giveaways but 258??? My right hand was already aching from being on the computer for way too many hours, so I dismissed that as well. Lightbulb moment! I decided to ask my DH to give me 5 numbers between 1 and 258, and that worked a treat. He thought it was hilarious that I accosted him , sitting on the scaffolding outside the house, stripping the woodwork, three floors up! I can't even go up a ladder without feeling all wobbly inside, so I approached him from the other side of the window, lol.

Alright, alright, I know I am going on and on, and you really want to know who has won what, don't you? So without further ado, here goes -

The cushion made from a vintage doily goes to - SUZIE from Suziqu's Threadworks

Next -
The vintage French/English ephemera pack goes to - MARIE from Spun by Me

Next -
The blue embellishment pack goes to - SAM from Cornish Contemporaries Flotsam and Jetsum

Next -

The red embellishment pack goes to - THERESA from Faerie Moon Creations

Next -
The neutral embellishment pack goes to REGINA from Southern OOAKS

Well, thats it, I hope you like your little gifts! I am going to email you as soon as I have posted this. Please get in touch with me within the next 2 days as I have to post the goodies within 3 days ( thats Lisa's rule ), otherwise I will have to pick a new winner. I am a very happy blogger, all warm and fuzzy and gooey inside.

Every Inchie Monday Challenge - Fishy

I know, it is quite amazing, I actually managed to get the Every Inchie Monday challenge ready....... on a Monday! Don't ask me how that happened, lol. I think it must be the sunshine, yes you read that right, SUNSHINE, we are having today. It makes such a wonderful change.

The theme this week was "fishy". My star sign is Pisces, so that was my first thought for the inchie, but somehow I didn't really fancy that very much. As I was looking out of the window, I was struck by how golden the sunlight looked on the building opposite my window. And it wasn't the greatest leap from that golden light to Goldfish and from Goldfish to scales. So I got a couple of things together, Cosmic Shimmer Mist, one appropriately called Golden Fish, and a pair of fancy edged scissors -

Such lovely bright colours in the sunlight, yay!

First, I sprayed a piece of card with the shimmer mist, cut out thin strips of scales, and glued them to the inchie -

Cutting out tiny little images takes ages! But I thought this little fish with its lovely floaty fins would be a nice addition to the inchie. A little "Goldfish" label, and that was it, my shimmery shiny fishy inchie was done -

I photographed the inchie on some beautifully tactile pieces of driftwood, which my dear friend Dorthe had sent me a while ago. Thats it, can't really say much more about a teeny little thing like this.

Must go and visit some more OWOH posts before its too late! Toodlepip xxx

Every Inchie Monday ( on a Saturday, sigh ) - Electrifying

I am going to blame my tardiness on the wonderful ( but time consuming ) OWOH event. So many wonderful blogs to visit, and before you know it, you have spent hours blog hopping and not doing anything else.

I did make my inchie for the " Electrifying " challenge yesterday though, so I can finally show you. Of course, I had the usual trouble of deciding on a background. First I went with a blue background -

Then I put it on a little bit of cotton lace, which I thought looked quite pretty -

But then I got out my very old dictionary and found what I thought was the perfect background for it -

Which one do you prefer?

Yet another short and sweet post, I have soooooooo much to do today. Have a great weekend, wherever you are, toodlepip xxx

Tag Tuesday Challenge - Tag on Tag

Oh my, this week I seem to be glued to my desk here, trying to catch with everything which is going on in Blogland at the moment. I made one of my door prizes for the fantastic OWOH event, I managed to get my OWOH post up just in time, I managed to catch up on all the blogs on my reading list, and I have even made a start on the OWOH participants list.I SHOULD have done my Every Inchie Monday and Tag Tuesday challenges, well, on Monday and Tuesday, lol, but it seems I am fated to be late, every single week, sigh. I haven't even had a chance to sort out the few pics I took in France. Tomorrow? I'll try.

At least I managed to make my tag today. I was in Valentine's mood, and that put me back into Vintage mood. Didn't take long, did it, lol? Here it is. Should have said, here THEY are, because the challenge was " Tag on Tag" -

I feel all warm and fuzzy and lovey-dovey inside now, lol!

Well, you could have knocked me down with a feather

When I posted my almost last minute contribution to the wonderful OWOH event, I never expected to see over 100 comments on the post! Flipping heck, it really is quite overwhelming to read all the comments. They made my heart sing, my eyes twinkle and put a huge smile on my face. Thank you so much to all you lovely people who said such lovely things about my blog and my giveaway.

I have spent so much time visiting other blogs today, I didn't even think about the inchie and the tag which I haven't yet made for this week's challenges. ARRGHHH. That has got to be on my to-do list for first thing tomorrow morning.

I haven't made anything else today either, but as we can't have a pictureless post, I am posting a few images which I had scanned in from my own collection. I hope you can make use of them.

I found this one in an old hymn book. Aaah, Spring flowers, I cannot wait to see them popping up in the garden -

This one is a very old Easter card, which I like a lot -

Is this Spanish or Portuguese?

Just look at this gorgeous, chubby little darling! His name is Olivier, he was 3 1/2 months old when the photo was taken, and probably lived in Montceau - Les - Mines in France ( thats where the photo was taken ). I love the lace cushion he is sitting on -

I adore this one, a card in the shape of a (chocolate? ) box filled with flowers -

The reverse of the card is just as sweet, it has this delicate little blue satin ribbon with a deep red seal on it -

Now, the next two images will probably mean a bit more to my German friends. I found these two cards here in England at a boot fair, who knows how they got there. I think they are fabulous, Kaiserin Auguste Viktoria und Kaiser Wilhelm II -

Bedtime for me now, so have a lovely day/evening wherever you are, and I'll carry on with my OWOH blog hopping tomorrow. It is sooooooooo much fun. If you haven't done so yet, what are you waiting for? Go hop, hop, hop!

ONE WORLD ONE HEART 2011

THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED AND THE WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY!
THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYBODY WHO VISITED AND LEFT A COMMENT. XX
I first came across this wonderful event last year, and was totally amazed. Hundreds and hundreds of talented bloggers participated in this event, offering wonderful door prizes to their visitors during the event, who were finding new friends and gorgeous new blogs to read. I found the event way too late last year to actively participate, but I was determined to take part this year. Right from the start of this 5th and final event. Sure. Yep. That was likely to happen, right? Best laid plans and all that, lol. Our last minute decision to go to France ( no internet at the cottage ) for ten days meant that I am very late, but still just in time squeeze in.

Have a look at the right sidebar if you want to find out a little bit more about me, or look through older posts, that will tell you pretty much all you need to know about me.

I am so looking forward to visiting all the blogs on the huge list of participating bloggers, which you can find
HERE. Lisa has done such an amazing job once again in organising this massive event. She deserves the biggest thank you hug ever!!!

I really appreciate all the people who regularly pop in to read my blog, and it makes me smile so much when new people start following my blog. I am offering two " door prizes ", and anybody, both old and new visitors, can just leave a comment on this post in order to be in with a chance to win. The only requirement is that you do actually have a blog. Thats it.

One door prize is this little pillow I made from a large oval vintage doily with beautiful whitework embroidery and gorgeous crochet lace. I added a sweet little image printed on fabric, a couple of handmade lace flowers, MOP buttons and some faux pearls from a vintage necklace -

I don't know what's going on with Blogger today, but it is going completely crazy at the moment. I can't post more than this 1 image, if I try and post more, it deletes everything I have written previously, the font size changes constantly, it is driving me nuts. I will have to publish this post as is, and hope that I can edit it properly later on. I have started over 3 times already, arrgghh.
UPDATE - weird, I have managed to post a few more pics with keyboard shortcuts rather than the mouse, but still get the ever changing font sizes, lol. Ah well.

Just to let you know, the second door prize is a big pack of antique and vintage ephemera, a mixture of French and English. I will post a photo as soon as Blogger lets me. And finally, Blogger let me, sort of, lol, just the one though -

I'll probably add a few more things to this pack, some vintage postcards perhaps, and possibly a little bit of French lace...... just don't ask me for photos today, lol.

I'll pick two winners on the 17th February, and email them as soon as the draw is done. So please make sure in your comment that I have a way of contacting you.

Toodlepip xxx.

PS - I have no idea why my writing is now in black, I can't change it back at the moment, arrgghhh!

UPDATE - I have had such a lovely response to my OWOH post, I decided to add three more prizes, so that there is 1 for each year this fabulous event has been hosted by Lisa -

I have added three little baggies with embellishments, one red themed, one blue themed, and one with neutral colours -

Good luck to everyone!
