Every Inchie Monday and Tag Tuesday

This week's Every Inchie Monday challenge word was MERRIMENT. When I think of that word, I immediately think of all the wonderful old traditions we have here in the UK, the Morris dancing, the Maypole dancing, which to me epitomises merriment. I love watching them and we always have so much fun, especially if there is a lovely old country pub nearby ;-).

So, for my inchie this week, I chose an old scene of merry men dancing around the maypole. I used fine embroidery thread to simulate the ribbons being wound round the maypole, and just a teeny bit of sparkle for the crown of the maypole -

And would you believe that I am actually posting a Tag Tuesday Challenge tag on a Tuesday? No? Well, you are not alone, I couldn't quite believe that I really managed to make my tag today either. Kinda feels quite good, lol. This week's challenge was to make a MANLY Tag.

I scanned in an old photograph of a rather handsome young man and then surrounded him with a few things that are probably fairly high on a man's wish list. Starting at the bottom, a good cigar ( represented by the cigar band ), a nice big pocket watch, the latest car of course, a trip to Paris, a bottle or two of French champagne and last but hopefully not least, a gold wedding ring........

Now what more could a man possibly wish for, eh?

I am off to finish my Birdsong tags, as I received the bits I was waiting for today. Seems I have done a fair amount of crafting since I got back from France. AND I am also working on something for the soon-to-come Giveaway, lol, won't be long now.

  2. Love the Manly tag! The deep Vintage colors and the embellishments make it absolutely perfect!

Love that you celebrate Maypole Dancing - Is that reserved for Birthdays or Weddings? I have several old movies where they had a Wedding or big celebration of some sort and the little flower girls danced around the Maypole. Such a neat tradition!

I love your Artwork! Especially the Bold Purple edges on the first photo...I am in love with Purple and Yellows for some reason! My taste in color changes every Season I think ~ You have a great week!! xo

  6. You are really busy, Liz. I love your manly tag. I'm not sure though that all men would agree on the wedding band being high on their wish list, lol.
