I love classical ballet. I once saw Rudolph Nureyev on stage in Romeo and Juliet, and that was the most amazing perfomance I have ever seen. So, when I saw that this week's theme was Dance, it just had to be something to do with ballet.
I wanted to make a little stage for my ballet dancer, including the big red curtains which glide and swish so beautifully across the stage after each act. Hmm, not as easy as I thought, lol. Manipulating such tiny bits of fabric is even worse than dealing with paper! Got there in the end though, not very tidily, but they are recognisable as curtains. I printed and cut out the dancer and used little sparklies for stage lights at the top.

Short post today, gotta get back to watching the Cricket World Cup!

How clever. Have you seen the film The Black Swan? Or the programme about a year in the life of a ballet company?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the cricket. I have a friend who loves cricket and she was horrified when she told me the score once and I asked if that meant we were winning or losing!! LOL
Jane
Aw, this mini dramatic stage curtain is quite the cutest!
ReplyDeleteSilly question time: What do you do with all these inchies?
I love it! The curtains add the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous!! I can't begin to imagine how difficult it must have been to make 1-inch curtain panels! Beautifully done, and so very creative.

Liz your inchie is fantastic, love that you make a whole theater scene in such a small space, great work.
ReplyDeleteAnni
I agree with Anni - making a whole stage set - lights, curtains and all on an inchie is pretty mind bloggling (this typing was accidental but I rather liked it as I was about to correct it)!!!

darling tiny dancer, I know what you mean, I once did a page with a red velvet curtain, a daunting task.
ReplyDeleteBut in the end worked out. Can't even imagine how you did it so small!
Hugs Lynn

I don't know how you work in such a small space and create so beautifully.

Oh wow, this is fantastic, Liz!!! I love it!! I hope you have a great weekend! We're re-doing the garden because the sun is finally out--lots of work ahead, but well worth it, huh? In a few weeks, I'll have pretty flowers! I sure am ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteSending (((hugs))) your way,
Cindy
Did you say ROMEO and Juliet?!?! I'm sure it was grand, I mean how could it be anything but with a name like ROMEO?!??
ReplyDeletePurrsonally, I like your take on dance better than I liked "her" take on dance when "she" dressed me up in that tutu. Is it any wonder why I adore you so?!?
Purrs!
