Lavender Love

While I had all the laces and embellishments out to make the challenge pillow, I thought I might as well make a couple of other things. I do love little lavender pillows, the scent of lavender is so soothing and little pillows just look so sweet scattered about.

I had put a couple of images from a lovely old book I had found a little while ago, on the same page as the challenge pic, to fill the space. Couldn't just leave them lying around, had to use them, didn't I, lol? Well, I only managed to use one, hand stitching and embellishing takes time but I think it is worth it. This little lavender pillow is covered in antique and vintage lace, sweet little lace motifs, mother-of-pearl buttons and sparkling crystal bicones.

And what else have I achieved today? Hmm, not an awful lot, lol, a few loads of laundry, making an even bigger mess with all my laces and craft things, and thats about it. Perhaps tomorrow will be tidy-up day. My family lives in hope.

  3. Well you are on a roll! Don't tidy up yet, make some more. It's such a beautiful lavender sachet and the drawing is so sweet. It must be so hard to decide which laces to use.

  6. That really is lovely, Liz. In answer to your question about how the family copes when I'm away, French school-hours are a real advantage: the boys are in school from 8.30 to 5.00 most days, so Ben can go to work without totally abandoning them to hours alone at home. They are pretty independent anyway now, and always do the school journey on their own. But the three of them do tend to do crazy things while I'm away! Late nights, strawberries for breakfast, Macdonalds one evening... and why not?

  11. Liz, I love it! It's so pretty, and all that work! Of course you had to use the picture and make the mess. That's how it works. Enjoy and welcome home.

  13. Oh, I'm so gonna use this as inspiration! I have been gathering a bit of lace and stuff too, seeing all you do with it, and now is the time to take the plunge! (Putting myself under a lot of pressure here, but that might actually do the trick!) :)

    Have a good weekend!
